Getting Your Vacation Check

The time has come again for the local to mail out Vacation Fund checks to those members who paid more than $1000 in 3% work dues in the previous year.

The qualifications for receiving a Vacation Fund check:

  1. pay in more $1000 in 3% work dues between January 1st and December 31st of the previous year
  2. be in good standing as of last day of the previous year

Vacation checks are printed and mailed from a company called Neverland Film Services, and any checks that have been sent to incorrect addresses will be returned to this company, so you will not be able to pick them up from the Local 479 office.

It’s important to know that the office provides Neverland with the addresses to mail your check to based on your information in the member database, so now is the time to visit the Member Dashboard website and (more…)

The 2015 Robert Vazquez Scholarship

The Executive Board of IATSE Local 479 is proud to announce The Robert Vazquez 2015 Scholarship. The scholarship has been established to award scholarships to a member, member’s spouse, son, daughter, grandchild or any child the member is deemed the legal guardian. Check your member email for more information on the amount, the application period, and the guidelines for this terrific educational opportunity honoring the memory of a member who devoted himself to improving the lives of all the members of this local.

Local 479 Joins 600 In Hosting Charity Golf Tournament

Kickball Tournament A Fun Time For All

2015 Kickball Tournament in Piedmont Park

After an initial postponement due to a rain out, Local 479’s Young Workers Committee successfully launched this rollicking kickball tourney to benefit The Global Village Project School, raising $18,425 on behalf of the Atlanta-based charity, which helps refugee girls with interrupted schooling to gain access to the education necessary to pursue their dreams.

The 2015 Member Account Dashboard

One of the most useful online tools available to our members is the Member Account Dashboard, a centralized, password-protected repository of information detailing your work history while a member with Local 479. The Account Dashboard contains useful tax-related information including the dates and amounts of your 3% assessments and dues fees, with records dating back as far as 2008.
