479’s Newest OSHA Outreach Trainer

Congratulations to Kevin Amick from IATSE Local 479 for completing the OSHA Outreach Trainer program at Georgia Tech OTI Education Center! Kevin joins a growing list of TTF Recognized Instructors who’ve participated in the TTF Train the Trainer program, applied for the OSHA Training Institute Supported Funds program to become OSHA Outreach Trainers, and applied to teach the TTF OSHA 10/GES Curriculum. As an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer, Kevin will be able to teach the TTF’s OSHA 10/General Entertainment Safety training for his local and other locals. Kevin Amick is Local 479’s Director of Education and is on the IATSE Training Trust Fund Board of Trustees.

New Construction Training Program

Director of Education Kevin Amick has been working with construction department Keys to develop a training program that brings new members up to speed on the common methods and practices of motion picture construction departments, so that these new members can hit the ground running. Our training workshop now contains a variety of equipment for our construction program. This equipment includes a table saw, a chop saw, a drum/belt sander, a band saw, a drill press, work tables and a variety of hand tools.
