Field Representatives

If you are a member of IATSE Local 479 and have questions about your paycheck, mileage, meal breaks, or any other terms of your employment, you need to be aware of the resources available to you. Each show has assigned Shop Stewards to assist members working both on-production and off-production. Supporting your Shop Steward (and you) is your Field Representative. Each project shooting in our jurisdiction has been assigned a Field Rep. Check the list farther down on this page to find out who the Field Rep and Shop Stewards are for your show. 

 

Line of Communications for Crew 

When you have a question, concern, or issue that you need the union’s help to address, here’s the best way to go about it: 

  1. Contact your on-production or off-production shop steward. If they cannot get you a resolution… 
  2. You or your steward would then notify the Field Rep to explain the situation. If your Field Rep cannot get you a resolution… 
  3. Your Field Rep will bring your situation to the Business Agent, Mike Akins. If necessary, Mike will reach out to you directly for more details, so that he can resolve your situation.
