58th CAS Awards Nominations Include Local 479
IATSE Local 479 is pleased to announce that two of our members, Michael Filosa and Christopher Giles have been nominated for the 58th CAS Awards For Outstanding Achievement In Sound Mixing For 2021.

Congratulations also go out to Local 479 members Alana Knutson and Jason Lewis for their work on the Disney+ series Hawkeye, Episode 3, “Echoes”, under Sound Mixer Pud Cusack, CAS (Local 695).
The 58th Annual CAS Awards will take place on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel in the Wilshire Grand Ballroom.

Andi Sowers Nominated for Visual Effects Award
IATSE Local 479 is pleased to announce that local member Andi Sowers, has been nominated as part of the VFX team for the 18th annual VES Awards For Outstanding Visual Effects for Photoreal Episode for her work on the 3rd season of the Atlanta-lensed television series Stranger Things.
The 18th Annual VES Awards will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at the Beverly Hilton – if you’d like to watch, the ceremonies will be livestreamed on Facebook (click for link).

Michael Rayle Nominated for CAS Award
IATSE Local 479 is pleased to announce that one of our members, Michael Rayle, has been nominated for the 56th CAS Awards For Outstanding Achievement In Sound Mixing For 2019 for his work on the 3rd season of the Atlanta-lensed television series Stranger Things.
The 56th Annual CAS Awards will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel in the Wilshire Grand Ballroom.

Flip Borrero Nominated for 2019 Emmy
Please help us in congratulating Local 479 Production Sound Mixer Felipe ‘Flip’ Borrero, CAS, on a 2019 Emmy Nomination for his work on the Netflix series “Ozark”. Flip and the re-recording/foley team on this popular episodic have been nominated for Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (1 Hour) on the episode “Badger”.
First Man Oscar Nom for Sound Mixer Mary Ellis
Local 479 is pleased to announce that Sound Mixer Mary H. Ellis has been nominated for an Academy Award as a member of the Sound Department on the feature film “First Man“. This is Mary’s second Oscar nomination in two years. She was previously nominated as part of the sound team on (more…)
