2023 IA Charity Golf Tournament Raises $23K+
The 11th Annual IATSE Charity Golf Tournament returned to the greens this past Saturday, April 29th, at the Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City. 30 teams from around Atlanta’s production community enjoyed a beautiful day of golf, raising more than $23,000 for the charity Nicholas House.

2023 Sponsors & Hosts
The 2023 tournament was hosted by IATSE Local 479, co-hosted by IATSE Local 798, and organized by members of the Local 479 Golf Committee and volunteers. Local businesses and organizations stepped forward to sponsor holes (full list below).
The Cause
This year’s tournament marked 11 years of charitable support by members of IATSE for organizations making a difference around Georgia.
This year’s charity was Nicholas House, which assists homeless families in making the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency in a structured but home-like environment through one of several housing programs. Nicholas House (NHI) is committed to assisting families attain three goals that form the basis of self-sufficiency:
- Earning a living wage;
- Maintaining the physical, mental and social health of parents and children;
- Maintaining safe and stable housing.
The 11th Annual IATSE Charity Golf Tournament raised $23,200 toward this worthy cause.
Jannan Thomas, Executive Director, and Tanya Watkins, Director of Development for Nicholas House, accepted the donation on behalf of the organization, thanking teams and sponsors at the opening acknowledgements before tee-off:

The Course
Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City is a 27-hole championship golf course featuring three diverse nines: Homestead, Old Mill, and Graveyard.
Scramble Rules
To accommodate 27 teams in a reasonable period of play time this tournament is run as a “scramble”, with each team taking a score at the end of each hole based on the single best shots from each position on that hole. Each of the 27 teams was assigned a starting hole from among the 27 available holes on the course, playing to complete an 18-hole round of golf.
Winners
Trophies and Prizes were courtesy of Monolith Studios, Reel Supplies, and tournament hosts Locals 479 and 798.
First Place
Team Special Eds from Cinelease walked away with the best team score of 58.

First place went to the Special Eds, a team from Cinelease. Accepting for the team were Art Schultz, Rich Pilla, Maddie Schultz, and Nick Turner
1st Place prizes included a 1st Place Trophy and:
- Atlanta Brave Game Tickets with Guest Access to the Chipper Jones Lounge
- Atlanta United FC Game Tickets (200 Level)
2nd and 3rd Place
Team Trilith took 2nd place by tiebreaker with Team Parker, both with a score of 60.

Golf Committee Chairperson Kathy Tonkin-Vazquez awarded Team Trilith with the 2nd Place trophy. Accepting were: Dustin Slaton, Rick Long, and Bob Stutzman.

Golf Committee Chairperson Kathy Tonkin-Vazquez awarded Team Parker with the 3rd Place trophy. Accepting was: Jerry Parker.
Longest Drive
Tyler Childs of Team Print Lab won for the longest drive.
Straightest Drive
Travis Craven won for the straightest drive.
Closest to the Pin
Mark Ensroth of the team Jason Morgan and the 479 Best Ballers, won for closest to the pin.
Hole in One
This year’s prize was $10,000 – there were no winners.
